About program

The program provides the advanced knowledge and skills you need to work in the fast-changing world of economics and finance. Students explore issues of economic stability, growth and development, study the principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics, examine the government policy of different countries, the economics of business, and international trade and finance.

The curriculum and program of studies have been developed with the account of the specific nature of this course intended for international students. Professors and teachers take into account different levels of international students’ knowledge in mathematics and economics.

Make sure you match the prerequisites

To apply for the program you should have at least B2 level of English and secondary education certificate or equivalent.

Fill in the online application form

Complete all the fields carefully with the necessary information. Don’t forget to attach a copy of your educational documents, translations (if any*). Our Admissions Team will contact you soon right after you submit the application form.

If there’re no translated and notarized documents, you can do it at the University, during the application procedure

Receive the email from admissions officer

Our Admissions Team will check your documents and inform you about next steps of application procedure. It’s better if you find out more about visa and recognition of your documents in advance.

Sign the educational contract and pay the tuition fee

The tuition fee for the program is 175 000 RUB (≈ 2 750 USD. Please, note that it may change due to currency rate)

Please, note that you should submit your application before application deadline. Otherwise you will not have time to obtain visa and undergo the admission procedure at the University.

Bachelor’s Programme “Economics”

I’m from Swaziland, it was an opportunity to come to Europe and to the climate that I’ve never experienced before, so I came here to experience the culture and to gain education at the same time. Then I googled the city to look at all the options I had, Nizhny Novgorod was the third largest city, and it was very beautiful. Lobachevsky University offered my course in English, which most of the universities do not do yet. I decided that it will be more comfortable to study in English than in any other language. I’ve chosen economics because it is in English and it is the subject that I enjoy, and studying in the language that you understand is much easier, it makes you study more relaxed. When it comes to leisure time, you come here and you meet Russians who speaks English and you can also learn Russian together. You are able to hang out – it’s just a relaxed and a happy place here.

I’m from Malawi, which is located in Southern part of Africa. I chose Russia because I wanted a different challenge in life. I wanted to see different type of people, different type of culture, so that’s what it’s about. I feel like from where I come from, if I study economics, I might be able to improve the situation. I like my university, first of all. I enjoy my studies here and I enjoy Nizhni Novgorod a lot, because people around us are pretty friendly.
